Ime Essien is a first year Phd student in Biomedical Engineering program as a Vivien Thomas Scholar and GEM Fellow. He studies under Dr. Rama Chellappa focusing on machine learning and medicine. He received a B.Sc. and M.Eng. degrees in electrical engineering from Morgan State University as a Martin Jenkins Scholar. His research interests include bioinformatics, machine learning, and high performance computing.
